Casinos That Provide eSports Expected To Attract Millennials

Land based casino operators throughout the world are always looking for ways to bring in more customers, especially millennials as they are known to spend freely.

Panelists who are involved in the gambling industry have stated that eSports is going to become a larger part of the casino experience as gambling establishments try to draw younger crowds. “New Face of Gaming: iGaming, Skilled Based Slots and eSports” was a topic of discussion at the second annual Casino eSports Conference at the Luxor in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The Luxor recently opened the doors of their new eSports Arena and it on its way in putting together eSports events to bring in more customers through its doors.

Alex Ingleman who is the executive chairman of Millennial Esports said that the eSports trend is showing no signs of slowing down. He noted that eSports events have increased in casinos in North America as well as in Asia where eSports is wildly popular. He believes that there is a demand to build permanent facilities like the one at the Luxor and Millennial Esports which is also located in Las Vegas.

Blaine Graboyes is the CEO of GameCo which is a manufacturer of skill-based games believes that it is not too far away when the market will see an influx of products from GameCo and similar companies that will make eSports a fixture on casino floors. He expects eSports to become a standard offering in casinos around the world in a short period of time.

GameCo Trying To Change Casino Landscapes

Graboyes explained that GameCo currently offers single-player games that are backed by the house but those games cannot be classified as eSports.

In a statement, Graboyes said

That is not eSports, eSports is competitive gaming with multiple players. In a month at G2E we will show our multi-player mode, and it adds multi-player competition. That brings eSports directly onto the casino floor. We will have brackets for 8, 32 and 64 players playing for cash.

Graboyes also stated that GameCo launched a new game in Atlantic City and that nearly 40 percent of those playing the game were millennials.

Where To Strategically Place The Games

One of the biggest challenges when it comes to attracting people to casinos is where to place the games. Graboyes doesn’t think that it’s a good idea to put their games in the middle of a bunch of slot machines that are occupied by an older crowd. This makes the younger people feel out of place. Casinos need to appeal to the younger crowd and work out a strategy as to which part of their gaming floor will be the most comfortable for the younger generation.
