Cherokee Casino Appoints Chad McReynolds As New General Manager

The Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland has big plans for the future as the casino will transition to a new property in a few months. The new property is built on 170,000-square-foot of space and was constructed at an estimated $80 million. The Cherokee Casino recently appointed Chad McReynolds to be its new General Manager and has entrusted him with the responsibility of overseeing the new expansion and growth plans of the Cherokee Casino.

A Cherokee Nation citizen and a Sallisaw native, McReynolds started his casino career over a decade ago as a card dealer. During that time he had held a number of different roles and used his experience in business admin and logistics to make significant contributions to the Cherokee Casino. He was promoted to operations manager during 2011 and has done a fabulous job under the guidance of former general manager Rusty Stamps.

Stamps left the GM position at Cherokee Casino when he moved to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa which is owned by Cherokee Nation Entertainment, the parent company of the Cherokee Casino. The GM position at the Cherokee Casino was left vacant for a number of months as casino management brainstormed and debated on appointing the right person for the job. Casino management decided that McReynolds was the man for the job as his 20 years of operational management experienced would play a major part in helping him run the new Cherokee Casino and its staff.

In a statement, McReynolds said

The gaming industry was always intriguing and seemed like a great way to make a living. During my years at CNE, not only have I loved the job, but I’ve also come to appreciate the great things the Cherokee Nation is doing with its gaming profits. It gives a greater sense of purpose knowing the work we are doing improves services and creates more jobs for the Cherokee people.

The new casino is located on the same premises at U.S. 64 on Cherokee Boulevard in Roland but will be bigger and better. The new casino is expected to have 850 electronic games, a number of popular table and casino games, a state of the art convention space and two dining venues. The property will also feature a resort style hotel that will have 120 rooms. The new project is also expected to create around 100 jobs for the Cherokee nation.
