In a statement, Simon Trumper, club director at From Dusk Till Dawn, said:
It’s one of the biggest tournaments we hold and it’s great for Nottingham because it brings a lot of people in to the city. As well as the main event, we are holding satellite events each evening so local players with a smaller bank roll can get into the main event
Friday, the 16th of April will be one of the biggest days for the casino as players visit to take part in the main event. The casino expects close to 600 players to show up in the morning to participate in the main event and another 150 to turn up in the evening for the Nottingham Cup.
Jake Cody and Liv Boeree have won previous UKIPT events in the past and know how tough the competition can get. Both champions are expected to attend the main event and see if they can win the tournament once again. Nottingham’s Carl Froch who is a world champion boxer is also expected to compete in the main event. Jake Cody has a good record in Nottingham and holds the record for being the youngest poker player to win the World Poker Tour (WPT), European Poker Tour (EPT) and the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) giving him the honour of winning pokers triple crown.
The 2014 UKIPT event which took place at the Dusk Till Dawn casino proved to be a great success as the event attracted over 1200 players and created a prize pool record of £1,223,000. The event was eventually won by Duncan McLellan who walked away with over £200,000. While this year’s UKIPT also has an attractive main event, there are also a number of interesting side events such as the UKIPT High Roller and the Nottingham Cup. The buy-in fee for the UKIPT high Roller is £3. 330 and just £330 for the Nottingham Cup.
