Evolution Acquires DigiWheel To Improve Game Show Content
Evolution has made a name for itself as premier provider when it comes to live dealer gaming. Evolution recently announced the acquisition, stating that it would be paying €1 million in cash for the company. Besides that big payout, the owners of DigiWheel will also get an additional earn-out payment. This will be based on the net income of the studio three years after it is bought.
DigiWheel has been around for more than a decade now. Established in 2010, its main focus is a spinning wheel product that was designed and developed in house. The main advantage of the product is that it provides a more immersive user experience for customers. This unique spinning wheel surpasses the quality and features of the basic spinning wheel used by a lot of providers.
Some of the main features that this wheel has include its ability to support multiple games at once, stream live on HD video, and even integrate promotional advertising. Players can also manipulate the view so that they can have a full 360-degree experience during the live game. Evolution has also given it a boost by providing additional game show wheel content like Crazy Time and Dream Catcher.
Diversify Offerings
When the acquisition is finalized, DigiWheel will still remain an independent studio and develop its own products. The arrangement is similar to the deal Evolution has with its other studios like Big Time Gaming, Red Tiger, Ezugi, and NetEnt. These studios have been developing great content for the Evolution brand and that trend will continue.
It seems that Evolution will be continuing its streak of acquisitions. Last fall, the company bought NetEnt, one of the biggest names when it comes to slot games. Another recent purchase was Big Time Gaming, which is best known for releasing games with the MegaWays mechanic.
