Facebook Gets Served $24m Lawsuit By Kings Casino Czech Republic

King’s Casino was one of the most happening casinos in Europe prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The casino is located in Rozvadov, Czech Republic and has grown significantly in the last few years thanks to the casino’s partnership with the World Series Of Poker.

Kings Casino has the largest poker room in all of Europe and hosts the WSOP Europe every year. The casino is owned by Leon Tsoukernik who is an avid high stakes poker player.

Kings Casino claims that a rogue online casino has been using its pictures and brand name to run false and misleading adverts on Facebook and con users into signing up at the online casino. One of the taglines being used in the false advertising campaign is that the best casino in the Czech Republic is now online.

Users are misled into thinking they are singing up at Kings Casino Online but in truth are signing up at a fake casino app. Players are being offered the equivalent of a $138 welcome bonus for registering an account.

Kings Casino claims that they have contacted Facebook on more than one occasion to warn them of the fake advertising campaign but got no response. Since the fake advertising campaign was continuing on Facebook, Leon Tsoukernik decided to file a lawsuit against the social media giant for $24 million which is nearly half a billion Czech crowns.

Facebook Aiding Fraudsters

Kings Casino claimed that when they wanted to run an advertising campaign in 2019 on Facebook, they were asked to provide their licensing information and other documentation to get approval for their Facebook ads campaign. This is in line with Facebook’s policy which makes it mandatory for Facebook to check the online casino license approval before they permit an online casino ad campaign in the Czech Republic.

Tsoukernik is not happy that a rogue casino was allowed to bypass these protocols and get approval to run a fake ad campaign. He claims that Facebook is assisting these fraudsters to deceive unsuspecting players and in the process is tarnishing the reputation and brand image of Kings Casino.

Since Facebook did not respond to Kings Casino despite reaching out to the on different occasions, they decided to take legal action and file a $24 million lawsuit. Facebook has so far not released a statement on the lawsuit.
