Games Global has become the new owner of Microgaming’s online games portfolio. The company, which was founded in early 2021, recently obtained regulatory approval to acquire Microgaming’s popular Quickfire distribution business.
The deal covers Microgaming’s exclusive gaming portfolio and its huge client network comprising over 900 global gaming brands. Following the completion of the sale, Microgaming will now focus its operations on providing platform support to online gaming firms and their customers. It will also pour more investments into its sports betting business and will maintain its software contracts with multiple clients, including leading online bookmaker Betway.
With the acquisition now finalized, Games Global officially makes a debut in the online gaming industry, armed with an extensive catalogue of more than 3,000 games developed by dozens of gaming studios, including Triple Edge Studios, Game Burger Studios, Spin Play Games, Alchemy Gaming, and Northern Lights Gaming.
Games Global already has more than 900 names on its client list and plans to introduce its portfolio to more regulated markets across the world. Its merger with Microgaming will help the company expand its reach and gain a strong foothold in the iGaming industry, given the latter’s established reputation for being a pioneer in online casino software development.
Microgaming CEO Andrew Clucas considers the acquisition deal an exciting milestone for both companies, saying the industry will open up plenty of opportunities for Games Global.
CEO of Games Global Walter Bugno is equally delighted with the latest development and said they’re excited for their full launch which will bring about a new era of online gaming.
Bugno is no stranger to the industry having previously served as a gaming executive at IGT and Lottomatica. Bugno sits at the helm of Games Global alongside chief financial officer Tim Mickley who also formerly worked for Playtech and Safecharge.
We don’t know much about Games Global as it is a relatively new kid on the block. The company website states that it operates a world-class distribution channel, delivering award-winning games to leading gaming brands across the world. This strategic acquisition will go a long way in Games Global establishing its brand rather quickly!
