Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol Postpones July Grand Opening
Summary:
- Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol announced a push-back of the initial July term for the grand opening of the permanent casino and resort.
- Wednesday’s press release announced a late-year opening.
- The new timeline was preferred so guests could enjoy the fully operational casino and amenities.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Bristol had planned the grand opening of the permanent casino and resort space for July.
According to a Wednesday press release, casino leaders decided to postpone the event to sometime later this year.
According to casino leadership, the new timeline has already been rolled out.
Over 600 On-Site Workers to Complete the Permanent Casino
The decision to delay the original term set for July came from a desire to offer “an overall better guest experience”.
“Instead of opening the permanent casino in stages”, said Wednesday’s announcement, “the partnership team prefers to have a grand opening with a fully operational casino and amenities”.
At the moment, there are over 600 construction workers on site daily. They are tasked with completing the permanent casino.
Dozens of positions at different levels are still open, including surveillance agent, shift manager, VIP host, table games floor supervisor, medical response tech, sous chef for the VIP room, part-time ticket writers for the sportsbook, and more.
“Overwhelmingly Positive“ Response to the Temporary Casino
As explained by Bristol Casino leadership, recent legislation allows operators to use an additional six months to complete their projects provided they have a temporary casino that will be incorporated into the permanent one.
Plus, a series of financial commitments must be met for casino operators to be allowed to delay the completion of their projects.
According to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol’s president, Allie Evangelista, the response to their temporary casino, Bristol Casino – Future Home of Hard Rock, “has been overwhelmingly positive”, which further proved “the excitement for Hard Rock’s permanent presence in Bristol”.
Evangelista added that, despite their eagerness to unveil their new resort, the time extension will enable them to make sure the end product will successfully exceed the expectations of guests as well as local community members.
The casino has not yet disclosed the opening date or month for the $550 million casino that will feature 100 table games, 2,700 slot machines, a sportsbook, 750 hotel rooms, an outdoor entertainment center, and a concert theater.
