Horseshoe Casino, Baltimore Hires Erin Chamberlin To Be New GM

The Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore opened with a bang in August 2014 and offered patrons over 122,000-square feet of gaming space that had 100 table games and 2,200 slot machines open to the public. The casino was rated as the second biggest casino in Maryland and was constructed at an estimated cost of around $42 million. The casino was placed under the leadership of Chad Barnhill, the current General Manager.

Barnhill recently decided to resign from his post and take up a new position with a casino in Cincinnati that is going through a re-branding page. Barnhill decided to leave because he wanted to move closer to Metropolis, Ill and spend more time with his family. The Horseshoe Casino has been searching to find a suitable replacement and has announced that Erin Chamberlin has been shortlisted to be the new General Manager.

From March 2014, Chamberlin has been the VP and general manager at Planet Hollywood Casino & Resort in Las Vegas and has a wealth of experience in the casino industry. She has spent over 10 years with Caesars Entertainment, the parent company of the Horseshoe casino and six of those years were spent in Atlantic City. Her new role at the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore will be challenging as she has to lead the 1,700 employees at the casino but will not have to worry about managing a hotel as she did with Planet Hollywood.

While the Horseshoe Casino currently does not have a hotel, the executive leadership team has plans to add a hotel in the near future. If they do decided to go ahead with the hotel and receive necessary approval, then Chamberlin’s experience will come in good stead.

In a statement,

I’m thrilled to be joining the Horseshoe Baltimore team and look forward to building on the many successes the casino has achieved in its first 15 months. Having worked at premier resorts around the country, including in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, it’s clear to me that Horseshoe Baltimore has enormous potential to continue the growth it has enjoyed to date.

Chamberlin graduated from the University of Virginia and majored in finance and marketing and would later go on to complete her Masters of Business Administration from Duke University.

While the recruiting process is complete for the Horseshoe Casino, Maryland regulators need to approve Chamberlin’s move to Baltimore.
