International Game Technology (IGT) and Station Casinos have just released a new app for cashless gaming similar to NSW. Using IGT’s Resort Wallet and IGTPay cashless gaming modules, six flagship venues of Station Casinos now offer a new form of payment. The option is user friendly and available on iOS and Android devices.
Players can visit their app store on a mobile device to download the STN Cash app. The option provides a quick and convenient way to pay for slot gaming as well as other entertainment or amenities. With the Resort Wallet of IGT, players will use a PIN protected Cashless Wagering Account to play their favorite games.
Boarding Pass members of Station Casinos can transfer funds to the app from a variety of payment methods including debit cards, credit cards, ewallets and bank accounts. Funds from the app can be added to a slot machine as credits. Once players are done spinning the slot, any funds are returned to the app at the end of the session.
Players can cash out at any time or leave the funds within the STN Cash account for gaming in the future. The Resort Wallet and IGTPay options are part of the IGT ADVANTAGE casino management system. Because of this, players who use the STN Cash app will not need the Boarding Pass card to play.
Just tap in with your smart phone and rewards are accumulated. You can redeem points this way too during gaming sessions.
IGT Chief Operating Officer, Global Gaming, Nick Khin, commented on the new option by stating: “It’s exciting to see Station Casinos at the forefront of the on-premise cashless gaming revolution by powering its impressive STN Cash app with the Resort Wallet and IGTPay modules of the IGT ADVANTAGE casino management system. In deploying IGT’s turnkey cashless solution and providing more ease to its customers, Station Casinos is positioned at the forefront of on-premise industry payment trends.”
For many years now, cashless gaming has been at the forefront of discussions when it comes to the casino gaming industry. From the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, talk of cashless systems ramped up. No one wanted to touch cash for fear of spreading germs, which helped those pushing for cashless options to release new products.
Las Vegas continues to be at the forefront of this movement and the release of this new option by IGT is just a reminder of where the industry will be going in the future. People do not carry cash like they used to and having a convenient, mobile option for betting is ideal for players even the older generation.
It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks how well received the product is and if players take to the cashless option better than traditional payment methods.
