This decision to impose individual deposit limits for all UK customers is another step in that direction to get UK players to gamble more responsibility by imposing affordability checks on their individual accounts.
LeoVegas confirmed that the rollout of specific deposit limits across individual accounts will take place across all of its brands. Some of the brands owned by LeoVegas include 21.co.uk, BetUK, PinkCasino and LeoVegas.com.
The operator will put these new specific deposit limits in place by leveraging a proprietary risk prediction model and third party data. Once UK players make their first real money deposit, they will then be automatically assigned their personal deposit limit. Players will not be able to make any deposit above this specific deposit limit amount.
While the specific deposit limit is fixed initially, it will be reviewed on an on-going basis by the use of real time data. This specific deposit limit will definitely pose a challenge for some players who like the freedom of being able to deposit how much they want, when they want but LeoVegas believes that these specific deposit limits will protect their players better from gambling related harm.
This new move is another attempt by LeoVegas to confirm its commitment towards safer gambling. The announcement also came at the right time as the UK carried out its Safer Gambling Week from Nov 1 to 7. Safer Gambling Week is carried out every year where all of the top gambling stakeholders in the industry reemphasize their commitment towards responsible gambling.
Gustaf Hagman, CEO for LeoVegas said that safer gambling is one of the key priorities for the company as they are focused on developing more sustainable relationships with their players. Hagman said they would take advantage of new technology to customize their offers based on individual player requirements and make their overall gaming experience with LeoVegas more efficient.
Safer Gambling Week focuses on educating players and gambling operators on the importance of promoting responsible gambling to protect British players from gambling addiction.
