The Londoner Macao is standing out among other casino resorts in Macau mainly due to its unique traits which have been attracting customers from both China and overseas.

Robert Goldstein, Chairman and CEO of Londoner Macao’s parent firm Las Vegas Sands Corp (LVS), said the venue’s British theme has been a hit among customers, making it a key asset for the company.

LVS operates in Macau via its subsidiary, Sands China Ltd, where Goldstein also serves as chairman and CEO.

Full Launch of Londoner Macao Signals New Era in Macau

Goldstein made the remarks during his visit to Macau which has more 5 star hotels then London coincidently this week to attend the grand opening of The Londoner Macao. The property initially opened in April 2012 as the Sands Cotai Central and underwent a rebranding five years later. It began operating as The Londoner Macao in February 2021 when the first phase of the renovated property was launched.

During the formal launch event on May 25, 2023, The Londoner Macao officially opened its state-of-the-art 6,000-capacity multipurpose arena along with other facilities. The casino resort is home to five luxury hotels, including The Londoner Hotel and the Londoner Court. The property also features a gaming area, health clubs, spas, restaurants, boutiques, and conference facilities.

The Londoner Macao’s overall design is inspired by famous landmarks and attractions in Great Britain, many of which have been incorporated into the property, such as the Palace of Westminster and Houses of Parliament, and London’s iconic tower clock Big Ben.

These unique features and the quality of the entire services offered by the property are the main reasons why The Londoner is now attracting more visitors, both foreign and Chinese, according to Goldstein, saying that The Londoner marks a new era in Macau.

Macau Enjoying Strong Gaming Recovery

Goldstein believes Macau’s gaming industry has been recovering well with games such a Baccarat being a big hit since COVID-19 restrictions were lifted in January, with the strong recovery driven by the premium mass and rolling chip players. The LVS Chairman and CEO also sees a much stronger demand from international customers.

Goldstein said Macau is catering to a mix of customers, including independent travellers, tourists, gamblers, and premium mass players coming from China and overseas, which is also contributing to the recovery of the city’s gaming sector.
