The $2,500 Championship Event is the most popular event of the tour as it has a $500,000 guarantee and will draw a huge number of players from the WSOP. The championship event is expected to start on the 26th of June and registration will continue to be open till the 27th of June. The event will covered by PokerNews’s live reporting team and the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker will also share his views and insights during the tournament as he currently serves as an HPO ambassador.
The first two seasons of the HPO turned out to be a huge success and tournament organizers believe that this year could turn out to be even better. Some of the other exciting events that are scheduled to take place during Season 3 of the HPO include the Mega Satellite (GTD seat) that has a $235 buy-in and takes place on the 25th of June; the Turbo Satellite to Seniors (GTD seat) that has a $125 buy-in and takes place on the 27th of June; the HPO SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP with a buy-in of $555 and takes place on the 27th of June and the No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack with a buy-in of $235 which is scheduled for the 28th of June.
In a statement, PokerNews Editor-in-Chief Donnie Peters said
The Hollywood Poker Open $2,500 Championship Event is certainly one of the can’t-miss tournaments of the summer.
After two huge fields turned out in Season 1 and Season 2, with 631 and 692 entries, respectively, an average of $335,000 was awarded to the winner. Add in the great HPO staff, world-class M Resort Casino Spa, and playing alongside 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker, and you’d regret passing this one up.
HPO Main Event players can use the MyStack App to update their chip counts and hands directly into the live blog. To find out more information about the HPO and to see a full schedule of events, please go to HollywoodPokerOpen.com
