Michigan Gaming Regulator Gives Approval For Live Dealer Casino Games

Online casino players who were keen to play live dealer casino games will now be able to do so as the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has now authorized online casinos to offer live dealer casino games.

Live dealer casino games allow players to have an interactive gaming experience. They will be able to launch a live dealer casino game which is being streamed from a live dealer studio. Players will be able to interact with a live dealer and other players at the table via live chat.

The first operator to get approval to launch live dealer casino games in Michigan is Swedish developer Evolution. This comes as no surprise as Evolution is widely considered as the premier live dealer casino game supplier in the world. Evolution is currently tied up with 10 iGaming operators in the state and hence Evolution live dealer games are going to be easily accessible throughout the Wolverine state.

Evolution said nine out of the ten developers have already started offering live dealer games. The nine operators that are now offering Evolution live dealer games include FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM MI Casino, Fox Bet, William Hill, Penn Sports/Barstool, Golden Nugget, TwinSpires and Rush Street. WynnBET is the 10th operator who is yet to launch its live dealer casino section.

The MGCB has initially given approval for live dealer blackjack, live dealer roulette and live dealer baccarat. The gambling watchdog is expected to approve more live dealer games at a late stage.

A number of licensed betting operators including Golden Nugget, Rush Street and BetMGM have released statements informing their players that live dealer games are now available. The MGCB confirmed that players will be able to access these live dealer games online as well as from their mobile devices.

Tribal Live Dealer Games Not Yet Approved

While the MGCB was quick to approve Evolution live dealer games, they are yet to approve live dealer games from three tribal operators. Play Gun Lake and its partnership with Parx Interactive, Four Winds and FireKeepers are all waiting on approval from the MGCB to offer live dealer games.

As of now there is no indication as to how long the MGCB will take to approve these tribal live dealer games. The long it takes for MGCB to approve these live dealer games, the better it will be for Evolution as they will continue to have a monopoly on the live dealer games market in Michigan.
