Ocean Resort Casino In Atlantic City To Open Next Month
Ocean Resort Casino has officially announced that it will be opening its doors to the public for the first time on June 28. While the name might be new to many in the gambling industry, the location is that of the former Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. The new casino will look to avoid all the missteps that made the Revel a disaster which included a difficult casino entrance to the Boardwalk and an indoor smoking ban.
Controversy has surrounded the Revel even after its closure and it initially appeared that the same trend would attach itself to the Ocean Resort Casino.
The casino was set to open on April 25 but the opening date was postponed because of employee agreements. CEO Frank Leone recently confirmed that the casino resort will go ahead with its official opening on June 28.
However, before the Ocean Resort can begin operations, the New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement needs to carry out an investigation of the facility. The results of the investigation will determine what the final recommendation to the Casino Control Commission for the license hearing will be.
