Warner Music China To Bring International Artists To Galaxy Macau Casinos

Summary:

  • Warner Music China will organize concerts by its artists and other events at Galaxy Arena
  • The partnership will help promote Macau’s “Tourism Plus” campaign
  • It is the latest deal secured by Galaxy Entertainment after teaming up with Tencent Group in June

Macau casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd has announced a new “strategic partnership” with Warner Music China.

The deal is part of the group’s efforts to boost its non-gaming offerings and coincides with the tourism and entertainment initiative launched by the Macau government.

Global Artists to Perform at Galaxy Arena as Part of New Deal

Central to the deal is the Galaxy Arena, a 16,000-seat multi-purpose venue located within the Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) at Galaxy Macau on Cotai. Considered the largest indoor arena in Macau, Galaxy Arena will soon host concerts and commercial activities involving artists from Warner Music China as part of the three-year partnership.

Additionally, the entertainment and record label will also have a hand in the planning and production of various events, such as music festivals, forums, and music lectures which will be held at the arena.

The Galaxy Arena is part of phase 3 of Galaxy Macau and had a soft launch back in April. In July, the venue hosted two successful concerts by K-pop group Blackpink.

Francis Lui Yiu Tung, deputy chairman of Galaxy Entertainment, said the partnership will enable the company to continue to fully utilize Galaxy Arena to host spectacular shows and exciting entertainment events for both locals and tourists.

Jonathan Serbin, co-president of Warner Music Asia, said the alliance will be a huge boost to Macau’s cultural and entertainment activities, with more global artists coming to the city to provide world-class entertainment.

Apart from enhancing Galaxy Entertainment’s non-gaming offerings, the fresh partnership will also support Macau’s “Tourism Plus” cross-sector integration, offering a wide array of experiences that combine culture and entertainment.

In June, the operator announced a series of events and activities to promote this initiative, including exciting family experiences at Grand Resort Deck, music shows, an art exhibition featuring the works of Chinese paper sculptor Wen Qiuwen, and the return of the popular Malaysian Food Festival.

Galaxy Entertainment Adding More Partnerships

The deal with Warner Music was the latest that Galaxy Entertainment has entered into in recent months, with the operator also teaming up with the TME Live brand in June. The brand is controlled by Tencent Music Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of Tencent Holdings Ltd.
