Most polls confirm that Donald Trump is the current leader of the pack with Ben Carson coming in second, while others candidates like Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and Ted Cruz continue to fight it out.
Donald Trump surprised a lot of people when he decided to run for President and has also been very outspoken in highlighting the fact that he is using his personal wealth to finance his presidential campaigns and unlike other nominees does not have to depend on wealthy donors nor does he have to bow to their demands and influences.
Karl Rove is well known within Republican circles as a shrew strategist who helped George Bush win the 2000 and 2004 elections. Rove recently stated that he had given Ben Carson an introduction to billionaire and Wynn Resorts chairman Steve Wynn. In the past, Steve Wynn had made financial donations to New Jersey Governor’s Chris Christie’s campaign and donated to America Leaders $25,000. This political leaders committee has the right to accept financial contributions of any amount and is known to back Chris Christie’s presidential bid. Steve Wynn’s ex-wife Elaine has thrown her support behind Jeb Bush and donated $11,500 to Right to Rise, a committee that backs Bush.
Considering the fact that both Christie and Bush have fallen behind the polls, there is a strong possibility that Steve Wynn might throw his weight behind Ben Carson and make significant financial contributions to his political campaign. Donald Trump and his team were not very happy to learn that Karl Rove was helping Ben Carson by linking him up with Steve Wynn.
In a statement, Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager for Donald Trump said
Karl Rove is at the center of the GOP establishment—fearful of what real leadership in Washington D.C. will accomplish. Mr. Trump continues to expose the all-talk, no action politicians propped up by their dark money super PACs that have failed the American people for far too long.
Fox Business News had reported in September that Wynn and Trump who once battled it out in the casino industry had worked out their differences and that Wynn would now be a part of Trump’s campaign advisors. Wynn representatives have since confirmed that Steve Wynn is not an advisor to Trump and also stated that they had no confirmation if Steve Wynn had met with Ben Carson.
